HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi folks, my last post of 2013.  Gosh that year has flown by don't you think?  2013 wasn't a bad year for me hope it was good for you all and here's to a brilliant 2014.

My last post was another birthday card for my dear friend Angela, this was made as an order for one of her friends.  Angela is, not only a lovely person, but is also a qualified aroma therapist hence the aloe vera etc.

Lots of spellbinders used and tumbling leaves embossing folder with shabby shutters distress inks and some wow powders too.

Hope you like it as much as she did.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

Happy Birthday Angela

Hi guys, how are you all?  I do hope you have had a brilliant Christmas with lots of nice pressies and some crafty ones too.

My first day back crafting.  Thought it would take my mind of the remnants of a stinking cold I have had over Christmas, plus I have lost my voice and at least when I am crafting I don't have to talk to hubby - not that he is complaining, with me whispering gives him a good excuse not to hear me!

Voice went Christmas day so it has been peaceful since then.  Why do we always get sick over Christmas?  Soooo not fair.  Still worse things happen at sea and I will eventually get back to normal.

A very good friend of mine had her 70th birthday early December and apart from my own card I also had to do two others for her as orders.  By the time I got to mine I decided to just let rip.

I chose teal as that colour fitted with her birthstone.  I used an 8x8 white card blank, matted some teal card followed by some pearlescent card which I have embossed after stamping a swirl stamp from Chloes Creative Cards using teal wow powder.

My large flower is also from Chloe's which is her 8 petal stamps, 2 of each stamped using teal wow powders onto vellum and cut out, shaped and secured with a brad.  Behind the flower you can just see a die from tonic studios which is one of their Christmas circle verso dies.

All the other flowers are a mixture of d-lites flowers and sprigs.

The day before her birthday we all went out for a Christmas/birthday celebration at a place called Dunsley Hall in Kinver and we had a ball.  She certainly had a brilliant birthday which lasted all weekend and after the year she has had she definitely deserves it.

Thanks for stopping by and you all take care.

See you soon.

Last Minue Christmas from Stamping Dragon Designs

Good morning crafters and followers.  Hope you are all well today?  How's the Christmas prep coming on?  Not long now, only 4 more days to Christmas day.

My post today is my DT design for SDD challenge.  Last of this year but don't worry we start again in January.

The design for this card is actually a card kit and I chose to cut it all apart but for beginners it would be ideal as a starter card, all you would need is a base card, scissors and glue.  Ofcourse you have probably already finished your Christmas cards but just in case, our challenge today is for last minute cards, decs etc.

Shopping List

Centura Pearl Card Base - C5
Red card
Gold Mirri Card
Jiggy in the Bauble Card Kit
Spellbinders DLites - Sprigs

I first took my sheet of images into Serif Craft Artist 2. I cropped a portion of the striped section, then using the stamp mode stamped 3 strips. This was one A4 page.

I started another page, added my image sheet, cropped the top section consisting of the image in the circle.  I also cropped the flowers so I could print off two sets of those, 1 image of the sentiment and two sets of the round image.  I then printed those two sheets off.

I matted my red card onto my card base.  I cut down two pieces of the striped section and matted those onto gold mirri card.

I cut out one full image of Jiggy in the Bauble and matted him onto some red card and then gold mirri card.  I then cut out just Jiggy and then just Jiggy's head and santa hat and decoupaged him up.  I finished him off with a glue stick and white glitter on his hat.

I then turned my attention to the flowers.  I cut them out, gave them a spray with gold glitter spray, put a small gold brad in the middle of them all and shaped them a little with my shaping tool.  I die cut my sprigs out in both green and gold and then placed them all onto my card with hot glue.

I topped it off with the sentiment from Jiggy in the Bauble Card Kit.

Hope this gives you some thoughts on how to use the card kits, they can be so useful to have in your stash for when you lose your mojo a little.

It's Bauble Time

Good evening folks, just watching strictly with a nice glass of wine really pleased I am now finished from work for 3 weeks - yippee.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and your christmas shopping is on track.  I finished all my pressie shopping this morning so that's good but gosh the shops were busy.

Well my card today is one I have made for my friend.

I picked up some really lovely silver card from AnneMarie Designs a few months ago and that is what I have used tonight together with centura pearl with a hint of silver.

The swirl stamp is a creative  expressions single which is a lovely useful stamp and I embossed it with cosmic shimmer silver embossing powder.

My poinsettia is using a marianne die and the bauble is a spellbinders 2012 I think and I stamped and embossed a sheet of stitching using a stamp from Inky Doodles.

Still practising my cosmic shimmer glue dots, I think I am getting better.

Thanks for joining me tonight see you soon and take care.

Fun in the Snow

Good evening everyone.  Only one more day to go at work then I will be finished until January 6th.  YIPPEE.

My post today is a simple card really.  I don't normally do kits, never buy them but I attended the show at Hunkydory show last year and this year and received a free christmas kit each year so I thought I would use them this year.  This topper was one from those kits.  The flower and leaves are marianne dies and the backing paper was also from one of the kits.

Hope you like it.

See you all soon.  Take care.

Chloe's Poinsettia

Good evening crafters and followers.  Oh I do love christmas, my tree is up and looking fantastic even though I say so myself.  The rest of the house is all decorated, christmas cards done just need to write them out.  Some christmas shopping done and only 4 days more at work before I finish until the 6th January absolutely brilliant.

My card today I have used a sue wilson embossing folder, some lovely soft gold card from Anne Marie Designs, gold cosmic shimmer glue dots and poinsettia stamps from ChloesCreativeCards which I have stamped and embossed in gold wow powders, all finished off with a leaf die cut from crafters companion.

I think I am getting the hang of these glue dots now, they are almost all the same size - tee hee.  Hope you like this one.  Look after yourself and take care.  See you soon.

Christmas Door

Hello crafters and followers, hope you are all well?  By the time this is posted I shall be on my way back from a relaxing week in Clawton just outside Holsworthy, getting back in time to put my tree up and christmas will start in our household - lovely.

Well Christmas is almost on us, yes honestly, it is on the countdown now and here is my first christmas card of the year.

I started with a C5 card in centura pearl and matted some black card onto that. I then took another piece of centura pearl card, embossed it using falling leaves A4 embossing folder and distressed it using fired brick distress inks.

I die cut a piece of black card using the 5x7 card creator die which fitted my topper perfectly.  My flowers were die cut with a marianne die using gold mirri and some red card topping them off with a dollop of silicone glue and covered it with gold glitter.  The leaves were also marianne die using mirri card.

Shopping List: -

Spellbinders 5x7 Card Creator Die
Marianne Dies for flowers and branches.
A4 Embossilicious embossing folder - falling leaves.
Fired Brick distress inks.
Hunkydory christmas set which was a freebie from Doncaster last year.

Hope you like today's christmas card and thank you for stopping by.

Take care and see you soon.

I printed this part out and attached it to my card and then coloured in Penny's Apples Digi Stamp with my copics.  I do think this is the beauty of digi stamps, they can be used for normal crafting and also for digi crafting.

Hettie on Stage

Hi folks, hope you are having a fabulous Sunday and getting some crafting in.  Me, I am watching christmas movies, yes I  know, it's a bit early but I do like that feel good factor.

My post today is another card I made for Hettie.  This one was from her grandmother.  As you can guess Hettie sings and I am told very well according to my mom.  I haven't heard her unfortunately.

The image is a digi stamp I found on Esty and coloured in with my copics.  The backing paper is centura pearl embossing using the swirl embossilicious folder- the8x8- which I do love.  So useful. The flower is a spellbinders and the leaves are from crafters companion dies I think.  Beautiful dies I have to admit, so useful.  Hettie is stamped with Clarity alphabet stamps, again such a useful stamp collection to have in your stamp stash.
I have put some glitter on the feather wrap using a glue stick and white glitter.

Hope you like this one.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time, take care.

Halloween-StampingDragonStyle

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.  Hope your day is going well?

Don't know what your weather is like but here in the West Midlands it is raining cats and dogs. Good day to stay in and craft - hee hee

My post today is a DT sample for our new challenge over at Stamping With The Dragon Challenge which is Halloween.  Now I don't celebrate or even like Halloween so this is my very first halloween card I have ever made.

Shopping List

C5 black card
Orange pearlescent card
Backing papers - Spooky Night
Digi stamp - Jiggy's Pumpkin
Spellbinders - basic lattice die
Marianne die leaves
Dienamics swirl
Copics - G21 | G28 | G29 | YG00 | YR02 | YR04 | YR07
Pearl moon guilding wax
versamark pen
WOW white twinkle embossing powder
Clear embossing powder
black versafine ink
Clarity alphabet stamp

I matted  my backing paper from Spooky Night selection onto a black card blank, I have also distressed this around the edges..  I then used my versamark pen to draw a spiders web coming out of the top left hand corner and embossed it with the WOW white twinkle powder.  Hopefully you can just see this.

Using spellbinders lattice die I cut some dark green card and placed that onto my backing paper.  I also die cut the swirl using a dienamics die.  My wording was stamped using the clarity alphabet stamp, black versafine ink and clear embossing powder and then cut out and placed onto my card.

Jiggy's Pumpkin digi stamp was printed out and coloured using copic pens.  Cut out, shaped and placed onto my card.   The leaves were die cut using a marianne die and green card finished off with some pearl gilding wax.

I do hope you like my first halloween card.  Thanks for checking out my blog and do pop over to the challenge here.

Hettie Jamming

Hi guys how are you all today?  Hasn't the weather turned nasty.  Gosh I wish this rain would go away, hate the rain I have to admit. Well I have just had a lovely weekend crafting, I actually had 4 days off in a row which was nice, got a good start on my christmas cards but I refuse to start putting them on here until November.  Don't you think christmas starts a little early, our garden centres are already starting to put the decs up and we haven't even got bonfire night over and done with.

Well my post today was made as an order for a 21st birthday.  Now I have made a few for this customer so I had to come up with something different especially as I was making two for the same person, always difficult.

The image is one I have used before and shown on here actually, Jamming Janice from Mo Manning stable, a lovely image and so ideal for the younger generation.  My topper was coloured in with copics, die cut with a spellie die and I made a faux die to mat and layer.  My sentiment was printed out, die cut and inked up.  The flower is spellbinders too as is the flourish.  You know me and my flowers/flourishes, my trade mark I think hee hee.

The background was made with some music stamps from Dimensions, embossed with a music embossing folder and inked around using spiced marmalade from tim holtz.  All finished off with cosmic shimmer glue dots.  I think I am getting better at those now, more evenly spaced, practice is certainly the key.

Well I happen to know Hettie was pleased with this card and hopefully she had a lovely birthday. Hope you like it and thank you for popping in.  Take care and see you soon.

Circles - Stamping Dragon Challenge

Hello crafters and followers.  Are you having a good day?

My post today was a challenge for me as I am not known for doing shaped cards and my Stamping Dragon DT challenge was 'circles'.  So I decided to go hybrid and use Craft Artist.

My shopping list
Digi Stamp- Circles Floral Flame
Backing Papers from Lemonade Paper Pack
Serif Craft Artist 2
Sizzix flourishes
Spellbinders Sun kissed Fleur stamps and die.
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - tea dye
Copic Ciao - Y02 | YR04
Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder - Tropic Yellow Lustre

I started with blank 8x8 page and the imported my two backing papers, placed on of them onto my page and stamped out my circle.  I them imported the digi stamp, used the cutout facility to cut out the centre of the digi stamp and when I was happy with that I then converted my digi stamp into an intelligent frame.  This meant that when I imported my photograph I could just drop it into my digi stamp frame.  Before I placed my photograph in I did change the colour of the frame.

My 2nd backing paper I used to punch out a couple more circles, roughened the edges and placed them behind my digi stamp frame.  I then printed it all out onto card and cut around the circle.

I used my copics to do a bit of colouring around the edges of my digi stamp and frame plus the butterflies.  Placed it onto a 8x8 card and cut around that too. I was then ready for my embellishments which are the spellbinders sunkissed fleur stamps and die plus the cosmic shimmer embossing powders all topped off with sizzix flourishes in brown card.

Thank you for checking out my blog and don't forget to visit and enter the challenge here.

For My Mom

Hi there, how are you all, well I hope?

My card today was made specially for my Mom's birthday which is today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM you are the best.

I daren't tell you how young she is, she can still clip me around the hearhole!

The image is from Mo Manning and is a digi stamp coloured in with my copics.
I have die cut using a spellbinder, labels  28 which I inked around with antique linen distress ink.  I cut a faux nestie for a mat.  The flower is a die from Xcut, daisy one.  The flourish I cannot remember which company that was from, sorry but I did by it from the Stamphut I think.  The embossing is an embossalicious 8x8 folder from crafters companion.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you choose to leave, they mean such a lot to me.  Take care.

Last Rays of Sun-Yellow

Well crafters and followers, today is my very first DT project for Stamping Dragons Challenge - Last Rays of Sun.

When I applied to be a DT I didn't think I would be chosen so I never actually looked at the website or designs.  When I was chose, after getting over the initial shock I quickly went to look at the designs.  Boy are they gorgeous.  Quirky and different is how I would describe them and definitely beautiful designs.

Thing I like about a digi stamp is the versatility.  I can have any size I want. Now don't get me wrong I also love stamps but I will admit to their limitations in as much as they are one size.  With this digi stamp I took it into my serif craft artist programme, reduced it in size and then changed the colour to both yellow and purple, used the stamp mode and created my own backing paper too.  See definitely versatile.

So for my card, my shopping list is: -

C5 centura pearl card blank
piece of purple card
yellow 6x6 co'ordinations card
couture creations embossing folder - One World
spectrum noir pens - DG2; DG4; CT1; CT2; PL5
Digi Stamp - Fancy Floral
spellbinder labels 10
serif craft artist 2
yellow dotty ribbon
distress inks squeezed lemonade | milled lavender
brilliance dew drop ink pad - sunflower yellow
clear embossing powder
glossy accents

I have started with a C5 centura pearl card blank, followed by a piece of purple card which I pricked around the edges.

I coloured my main image using spectrum noirs then cut it into a square, rounded the corners, distressed the edges with some distress inks squeezed lemonade and matted that onto my yellow co'ordinations.  I have decoupaged the flower and finished it off with some glossy accents.

I then ran my backing paper, which I have designed myself using my serif craft artist, the digi stamp and stamp mode, through my GC using the One World embossing folder, I did have to extend it.  I distressed the edges using squeezed lemonade and milled lavender distress inks.

I then finished the card off with a yellow dotty ribbon and a sentiment die cut using my labels 10 spellbinders die and cutting a faux mat.

I do hope you like it and don't forget to hop over to  Stamping Dragons Challenge - Last Rays of Sun. and enter.  Good Luck.

Red Daisies

Good evening fellow crafters and followers.  How has our Sunday gone?  Mine has been lovely, started with an unusual lazy lie in followed by sunday lunch and a pleasant afternoon with hubby and mum and now a lazy evening waiting for Downton to return.  Back to work tomorrow - yuck.  Good job these weekends come around quickly - tee hee.

Well my woodburner is installed, my new blinds are up and my lounge is now getting back to some kind of normality.  Two doors to replace and we will be all done, thank god.  It has been worth it though.

My post today was made for a friends birthday.  Cream and red card do go so well together.  Daisy Swirl stamp from creative expressions using one of their lustre embossing powders.  The background is stamped using fire brick distress ink as is the spellbinders flower.  The little flowers were made using a tonic punch and the swirl is also a spellie.  The background has also been embossed using a couture caustic embossing folder I think.

Hope you like it.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Until next time do take care.

I have entered this card into the following challenge:-

Celebrating Sara & Steph Marriage

Good evening crafters and followers.  I do hope you have had a good day.  Hasn't the weather changed?  Phew, positively chilly.  Roll on Friday when, hopefully, my woodburner will be fitted so we will be snuggly warm from then on and hopefully have cheaper heating bills.

My card tonight was made for my neice and her partner who got married earlier in the year in America.  Steph is American and has been very brave by coming to live here in good old England, but then she loves my neice and I can understand that.  Not that I am biased or anything.  I do wish them many years of happiness.

I have to admit I was a little nervous when making this as it is the first same sex wedding card I have done but I was really pleased with it although my photograph leaves a little to be desired.  Sorry.

I began with a C5 centura pearl card, matted another piece of card on after pricking around the edges.  I then embossed another piece of centura pearl card using a lovely swirls embossilicious 8x8 folder.  In fact I have used centura pearl card completed.  The two hearts are stamps from a creative expressions set of wedding stamps which are delightful.  I used a cosmic shimmer lustre embossing powder.  They have been matted onto a d-lite which is matted onto an xcut heart die.  The flower was made using stamps from Chloe.  I stamped and embossed onto parchment finished with a pearly and two swirls from spellbinders also diecut in parchment.

Finally a little personalisation using clarity alphabet stamps and some WOW silver glitter embossing powder.

I do hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog and for any comments you choose to leave.  Take care folks.  See you all soon.
