Last Rays of Sun-Yellow

Well crafters and followers, today is my very first DT project for Stamping Dragons Challenge - Last Rays of Sun.

When I applied to be a DT I didn't think I would be chosen so I never actually looked at the website or designs.  When I was chose, after getting over the initial shock I quickly went to look at the designs.  Boy are they gorgeous.  Quirky and different is how I would describe them and definitely beautiful designs.

Thing I like about a digi stamp is the versatility.  I can have any size I want. Now don't get me wrong I also love stamps but I will admit to their limitations in as much as they are one size.  With this digi stamp I took it into my serif craft artist programme, reduced it in size and then changed the colour to both yellow and purple, used the stamp mode and created my own backing paper too.  See definitely versatile.

So for my card, my shopping list is: -

C5 centura pearl card blank
piece of purple card
yellow 6x6 co'ordinations card
couture creations embossing folder - One World
spectrum noir pens - DG2; DG4; CT1; CT2; PL5
Digi Stamp - Fancy Floral
spellbinder labels 10
serif craft artist 2
yellow dotty ribbon
distress inks squeezed lemonade | milled lavender
brilliance dew drop ink pad - sunflower yellow
clear embossing powder
glossy accents

I have started with a C5 centura pearl card blank, followed by a piece of purple card which I pricked around the edges.

I coloured my main image using spectrum noirs then cut it into a square, rounded the corners, distressed the edges with some distress inks squeezed lemonade and matted that onto my yellow co'ordinations.  I have decoupaged the flower and finished it off with some glossy accents.

I then ran my backing paper, which I have designed myself using my serif craft artist, the digi stamp and stamp mode, through my GC using the One World embossing folder, I did have to extend it.  I distressed the edges using squeezed lemonade and milled lavender distress inks.

I then finished the card off with a yellow dotty ribbon and a sentiment die cut using my labels 10 spellbinders die and cutting a faux mat.

I do hope you like it and don't forget to hop over to  Stamping Dragons Challenge - Last Rays of Sun. and enter.  Good Luck.

Red Daisies

Good evening fellow crafters and followers.  How has our Sunday gone?  Mine has been lovely, started with an unusual lazy lie in followed by sunday lunch and a pleasant afternoon with hubby and mum and now a lazy evening waiting for Downton to return.  Back to work tomorrow - yuck.  Good job these weekends come around quickly - tee hee.

Well my woodburner is installed, my new blinds are up and my lounge is now getting back to some kind of normality.  Two doors to replace and we will be all done, thank god.  It has been worth it though.

My post today was made for a friends birthday.  Cream and red card do go so well together.  Daisy Swirl stamp from creative expressions using one of their lustre embossing powders.  The background is stamped using fire brick distress ink as is the spellbinders flower.  The little flowers were made using a tonic punch and the swirl is also a spellie.  The background has also been embossed using a couture caustic embossing folder I think.

Hope you like it.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Until next time do take care.

Celebrating Sara & Steph Marriage

Good evening crafters and followers.  I do hope you have had a good day.  Hasn't the weather changed?  Phew, positively chilly.  Roll on Friday when, hopefully, my woodburner will be fitted so we will be snuggly warm from then on and hopefully have cheaper heating bills.

My card tonight was made for my neice and her partner who got married earlier in the year in America.  Steph is American and has been very brave by coming to live here in good old England, but then she loves my neice and I can understand that.  Not that I am biased or anything.  I do wish them many years of happiness.

I have to admit I was a little nervous when making this as it is the first same sex wedding card I have done but I was really pleased with it although my photograph leaves a little to be desired.  Sorry.

I began with a C5 centura pearl card, matted another piece of card on after pricking around the edges.  I then embossed another piece of centura pearl card using a lovely swirls embossilicious 8x8 folder.  In fact I have used centura pearl card completed.  The two hearts are stamps from a creative expressions set of wedding stamps which are delightful.  I used a cosmic shimmer lustre embossing powder.  They have been matted onto a d-lite which is matted onto an xcut heart die.  The flower was made using stamps from Chloe.  I stamped and embossed onto parchment finished with a pearly and two swirls from spellbinders also diecut in parchment.

Finally a little personalisation using clarity alphabet stamps and some WOW silver glitter embossing powder.

I do hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog and for any comments you choose to leave.  Take care folks.  See you all soon.

Alice

Good evening crafters and followers.  I don't know about where you live but it has been a miserable day here in Birmingham.  Raining, chilly and dull.  That fine rain too that soaks you real quick.  I would have loved to have stayed in and spent the day crafting but unfortunately I had to work - yuck.

Well, my post today is a DT sample for Card Creatoins Digi Stamp Challenge.  This digi stamp is just gorgeous and is so detailed I felt it cried out to be left alone so I took a C5 centura pearl card base which I punched out a border down the front side with my martha stewart punches.

I then matted a piece of black card followed by a piece of centura card embossed with the great almanzo.

My image has been diecut using a spellbinders die and I made a faux nestie in black for matting.  I then die cut my flowers and ivy leaves.

Shopping List
Embossing Folder- Great Almanzo
signature ivy
marianne holly
marianne flowers

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to Card Creatoins to join in the challenge here.  Take care.

Into the Forest

Good folks how are you all tonight?  I hope you are having a good crafty weekend.

I have been doing a bit of crafting yesterday and today but I can't show you the results of my labour yet as they are my projects for the Stamping Dragon Challenge into the future.

So I thought I would show you one of my projects from my wonderful crafty workshop with Jayne Nesterenko last Sunday.  This time we were all split into two separate workshops which was great.  My morning one was with the talented Helene who is a wizz with distressing inks.

I have always admited Barbara Gray but never thought I could produce a scene, Helene taught me different.  This was my first one and we used the birch tree stamps by Jayne, little trees from Reindeer Trio, sakura glaze pen and Stormy Sky distress ink.

Helene is so good at explaining everything and both she and Jayne have so much patience with everyone I was thrilled to bits with my end result and I hope you like this one as much as I do.

Thank you for dropping by and checking out my blog.  Your comments are so welcome.  Take care.
