Happy Birthday Angela

Hi guys, how are you all?  I do hope you have had a brilliant Christmas with lots of nice pressies and some crafty ones too.
My first day back crafting.  Thought it would take my mind of the remnants of a stinking cold I have had over Christmas, plus I have lost my voice and at least when I am crafting I don't have to talk to hubby - not that he is complaining, with me whispering gives him a good excuse not to hear me!
Voice went Christmas day so it has been peaceful since then.  Why do we always get sick over Christmas?  Soooo not fair.  Still worse things happen at sea and I will eventually get back to normal.
A very good friend of mine had her 70th birthday early December and apart from my own card I also had to do two others for her as orders.  By the time I got to mine I decided to just let rip.
I chose teal as that colour fitted with her birthstone.  I used an 8x8 white card blank, matted some teal card followed by some pearlescent card which I have embossed after stamping a swirl stamp from Chloes Creative Cards using teal wow powder.
My large flower is also from Chloe's which is her 8 petal stamps, 2 of each stamped using teal wow powders onto vellum and cut out, shaped and secured with a brad.  Behind the flower you can just see a die from tonic studios which is one of their Christmas circle verso dies.
All the other flowers are a mixture of d-lites flowers and sprigs.
The day before her birthday we all went out for a Christmas/birthday celebration at a place called Dunsley Hall in Kinver and we had a ball.  She certainly had a brilliant birthday which lasted all weekend and after the year she has had she definitely deserves it.
Thanks for stopping by and you all take care.
See you soon.
I have entered this card into the following challenge: -

  1. This is gorgeous Kandis, I do love teal and I am sure your friend loved it. I hope you get your voice back soon. Happy New Year.

  3. I thought I recognised Chloe's stamps. This is stunning xx Jan

  4. You have let rip beautifully. I do love teal - one of most favourite colors. This is a beautiful card and I am sure she loved it. Hope your cold is behaving itself and your voice is returning to strength - I am still husky after four weeks! Thank you for sharing this with us at the Squirrel and the Fox for our current challenge.

  5. Wow! what a fabulous card, the die cuts, colour and design are awesome

  6. gorgeous hun - good luck with your challenges x

  7. I love your card. It has a fantastic frosty look to it because of the sparkle even though most of the elements are flowers.

I lasted until Boxing Day until I got a bad cold and lost my voice. Mostly just done a bit of crafting and resting till then. My bigest problem is that both the parents are hard of hearing and neither will put their hearing aids in so getting them to understand what I'm saying is difficult. Hope you manage to shake the cold off quickly and get your voice fully back.

  8. This is just gorgeous. I love every aspect of it. So sorry to hear you and your family were sick over Christmas.

  9. This is just so very pretty and absolutely perfect for our challenge! You embossing, both the dry and wet embossing, are beautiful elevating elements that are beautifully employed here! Thanks so much for dropping this fabulous project off by our house here at 613 Avenue.
