Botanica

Hi folks, My last day of me hols today, back to work Monday - boo hoo.

My play today is using a technique I saw Francoise Read from Woodware shows on Hochanda using.  I had used tissue paper before but not for stamping and as I have just received my lovely new DL stamps from Phill Martin it seemed a perfect time to try this technique out.

I cut a piece of tissue paper, stamped my design onto it and dried it off.  I then sprayed inked it using ink misters and dried that off.  Sods law when I wanted some blobs I didn't get any but I am still pleased with it.  I then inked with what I thought was a clear ink pad but I messed up and used a white one so I carried on and then embossed that with clear embossing powder.  I then trimmed it down and fixed it to a piece of white card which dries clear glue.  I then decided I wasn't happy with the shine so I re-inked it with versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder not really knowing what would happen given it was already stuck to the card.  It actually embossed beautifully.

Products I have used are: -

White card blank - 8.25" x 4.50"
Black card - 8" x 4.25
White card - 7.75" x 4.0"
Tissue paper
Black Versafine Ink
Versamark
Clear embossing powder
Flag dies from Sue Wilson
Sentiment - John Lockwood Primrose Elements stamp set

I am quite pleased with the result, simple but nice, plus the design would be ideal for male cards.

Thanks for visiting today.  Take care.

Kris @ her Laptop

Good morning.  Well what a weekend?  I think the most of the UK has some snow in some form or another. Here is Birmingham it is starting to go because we had a good dollop of rain yesterday.  I really hate the snow, don't mind it cold but hate the snow.  Managed to get my shopping done Friday morning and haven't been out again since.

Added to that I have an issue with my shoulder and have had to have a steroid injection which was very painful I have been unable to use my right arm fully for about 2 weeks now whilst it settles down.  You can imagine how grumpy I have been over the weekend when all I wanted to do was craft, properly.

We start a new challenge at Crafting from the Heart.

Our sponsor for challenge 197 is

The image I have used is called 'Kris at her laptop'

My card today was made using my BSC as I have been unable to die cut.  The flower was one I had cut out and ready in my flower stash.

I designed it all in canvas and then just cut it out.  I have water coloured my image.

I did print the backing sheet out from Serif Craft Artist.

To see more images from our sponsor used by our design team follow the link HERE to our blog where you can also enter your own project into the challenge.  The theme is 'Anything Goes'.

Hope to see you again soon.  Take care.

HAPPY

Good morning all.  It's the 1st of a new month which means the start of a new challenge at Crafty Girls Creations.

Our challenge this month is not sponsored and 'Just for Fun' with a theme of 'Anything Goes'.

You can enter any project you want to show off to your fellow crafters.

My project this month was a playing one.  I decided to choose a set of colours from Phill Martin's cosmic shimmer range - Decadent Oak.

I started by spraying a piece of plain white card with the ink spray and left that to dry.

I already had a card blank left over.  I always buy A3 white card and make my own card blanks on this occasion I has cut an 8x8 card for another project and had the 'end' left over.  I matted a piece of brown card onto that.

I then took another piece of card and embossed it using one of Phill Martin's lovely deep stencils.

Using the card I had sprayed with my ink misters I used a Sue Wilson die 'Happy'.  I also used the same die to cut another 'Happy' from brown card to make a shadow.  I also due cut the 'Birthday' out of the brown card.

My flowers have been made using the new Gerbera dies and stamps from JND which are gorgeous.  I stamped the flowers using Colour Cloud - Decadent Oak.

My leaves are also Sue Wilsons dies which I die cut using white card and then sprayed them with the ink mister.

To see what the rest of our design team have been busy making follow the link HERE to the blog challenge and don't forget to enter your own project too.

Thank you for visiting today.

Hope to see you again soon.  Take care.
