Rose Bud Tag

Good morning all.  Hope you had a good weekend. Gosh we had some serious snow again on Saturday afternoon here in Birmingham.  Looked just like cotton wool coming down.  Definitely a 'bunker down and craft' day.

We have a new challenge beginning at Crafting from the Heart this morning.

Challenge 191 is sponsored by

The digi stamp I chose is called 'Rose Bud Tag'.

I have used an 8x8 plain card blank followed by some pink card.

I have made my background using some white card and with a small smoothie I have stamped randomly over the card using colour cloud inks - Crimson Kiss | Frosted Blossom | Basil Leaf | Chic Moss.  I then embossed it using an A4 rose leaf embossing folder from Creative Expressions.

Using Sue Wilsons Double Pierced Square dies I made a frame and with my BSC I cut the lattice.

My image has been coloured in using spectrum noir blendable pencils.

Last year sometime I had a day playing with my HeatPot and I made some roses from a Tattered Lace Die and bits of pink card which I dipped in some clear thick embossing crystals.

All finished off with some pink gems.

Do pop over to the blog to check out what the rest of our design team have done and also to enter your own project into the challenge.

Also don't forget our Facebook Page too.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  Hope to see you again soon.

Take Care.

The Dress

Good morning folks.

Hope you are having a good day.  Mine is mixed today, first day back to work after the Christmas break so it is hard to get back into it after 3 weeks practising to be retired.

Hey ho, has to be done, how else will I pay for more crafty bits and pieces!

We start a new challenge at Crafting from the Heart today

Challenge 189 is the usual 'Always Anything Goes'

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I am using a digi stamp called 'The Dress'.  I picked this one because I thought it would can be used for many occasions including Weddings.

During Christmas I have been playing with backgrounds using my pixie powders.  A big favourite because of the versatility.

I started by die cutting my background using Sue Wilsons New Zealand Collection Background die.  I then placed that over a piece of pixie powder background I had made.

The frame is made using spellbinders 5x7 layering sets - both of them.  They are actually excellent for this background and the others I bought in the set so that was a big bonus.

I have coloured my image using my copic sketch marker pens and then fussy cut her out.

A simple sentiment embossed in cosmic shimmer gold detail embossing powder die cut using a spellbinders set of dies and also making a faux mat.  All then finished off with some apple green Tonic Nuvo drops.

I have chosen to make this as a birthday card for someone, can't say who as her birthday is later in the year, however, this image would look lovely as a wedding card especially if you new the colours the bride had chosen.

That's all today and thank you for visiting.

Hope to see you again soon.

Happy Birthday Sharon

Good morning folks.

My post today is the birthday card I made for a mate at my Slimming World meeting and it is her birthday today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON.

A few months ago I completely lost my mojo so followed some advice I had heard from Julia Watts and had an afternoon of making backgrounds.  Mainly using my masks and cosmic shimmer glitter pastes.

I have used a mask and some cosmic shimmer texture glitter paste - graceful pink from Phill Martin.  I have used dies from Creative Expressions including the noble double pierced square dies to make the frame.  The stamp is from Phill Martin's Lavish Leaves collection.

The flower is a stamp called Large Jewel Flower from Chloe's Creative Crafts which I have stamped and embossed using embossing powder - Graceful Pink and finished off with some black Tonic Nuvo Drops.

I stamped the name again using the alphabet set of stamps from Phill Martin.  All the word stamping is black versafine.

Thanks for visiting today and hope to see you again soon.

Rose Block Trio

Good morning all,  I do hope you all had a good Christmas with lots of crafting goodies to play with throughout the new year?  I would also like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

We start a brand new challenge at Crafty Girls Creations today.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

For my card this month I chose a digi stamp from our sponsor called Rose Block Trio.

I thought this would be an ideal image for lots of occasions and I could also use it in my digi crafting which is exactly what I have done.

I use Serif Craft Artist as my preferred programme.  I imported my Rose Block Trio into my programme.  I then placed a white rectangle behind it and placed a paper edge around it.

Behind this I placed a black rectangle and them imported a backing paper from one of my digi kits which actually has spots on it.  I finished off by choosing a black gem and using the stamping facility placed a gem over all the spots.
