Dr Digi Funny Sentiments

Good morning, hope you all had a good weekend?

I spent a lovely afternoon in my craft room working on my next memory book.  Since doing my first book using Tonic Memory Book 2 these books have definitely hit the spot with me and I just love doing them.

Well today we do start a lovely new challenge over at Crafting From The Heart.

As usual our theme is

'Always Anything Goes'

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I have used a digi stamp set from Dr Digi House of Stamps called 'Funny Sentiments 2'.  The sheet of sentiments is substantial and I used two of them.

My card is A5 in size and I have designed it in Serif Craft Artist using a digi kit called 'BTS Pets'.

I also used one of the sentiments on the insert

Shaking for Christmas

Hi there, another week over and I just love Friday's although I have a busy day today so not much crafting done.  Tomorrow will be my crafting day.

A new challenge begins at Simply Create Too.

Our theme for this month is

'Make a Shaker Card'

I have used a background I made sometime ago where I took some heat resistant acetate, covered it with dries clear glue and then sprinkled it with cosmic shimmer pixie powders, then put some tissue paper onto it and leave it to dry.  This technique is one I learnt from John Lockwood and Julia Watts.
I also sprinkled some gold glitter into it before putting the tissue paper on.

The frame was cut from Sue Wilsons Peg Board die and the poinsettia I die cut from Dawn Bibby.

I finished off with a sentiment from Phill Martin's stamps.

Follow the link HERE to our challenge blog to enter your own shaker card and to see what other ideas our design team have been working on.

Thank you for visiting today.

Take care.

Christmas Candles

Good morning all.  Hope you are well? Given it is now October I thought I had better make a start on Christmas.  So this is my first Christmas card and my first Christmas cake has been soaking for 7 days and was made yesterday ready for feeding.  My 2nd cake is soaking.

We start a new challenge at Get Creative Challenge today.

Our sponsors for this challenge are

Our theme for this challenge is

'BINGO'
I chose to use

flowers | use jewels | 2 or more brads.

My image is a digi stamp from our sponsor Ikes Art and is called 'Christmas Candles'.

After printing my image out I coloured it in using my sakura pens.  I do love a bit of sparkle at Christmas.  I matted it onto some green card.

My card base is a white A5 followed by a piece of green card as a mat.  My patterned paper was a freebie from either one of my Christmas magazines.

I then stamped the poinsettias using a stamp from Chloe's Creative Cards and Wow glitter powder called 'Rudolphs Nose' also from Chloe's Creative Cards.  I stamped onto vellum.

A green leaf brad in each corner and jewels in the centre of my poinsettias.

Why not pop over to our challenge blog to enter your own project into the challenge, just remember to follow the theme of 'Bingo', pick any line and good luck.

Thank you for visiting today.

Take care.

40th Birthday

Good morning.  We have a new challenge beginning today at Crafty Girls Creations.

My card today is made around one of my backgrounds.  I have used the tissue paper technique which John Lockwood and Julia Watts have demoed.

I began with a piece of acetate which I covered using dries clear glue.  I then sprayed it with water and then tapped my pixie powders on.  Another reasonable spray with water and it is ready for my scrunched up tissue paper which I tap down with kitchen roll.  Then leave to dry.

The frame is made using Sue Wilsons Noble Double Pierced Rectangle dies and the corner sentiments are from Phill Martin.

I made the flowers using a stamp from Honeydoo Crafts which I have embossed with their white, white embossing powder.  The flourishes are from Sue Wilson and I finished off my flowers with gems in the centre.

Thank you for visiting today and if you want to enter the challenge follow the link HERE to the blog where you can also see what the rest of our design team have posted.

Good luck in the challenge.

Take care.

Flower Elf

Good morning, how are you all?  We start a lovely new challenge over at Crafting From The Heart today.

Challenge 217 is sponsored by

I have used a digi image called 'Flower Elf' which I coloured in using a mixture of graphmaster and copic sketch markers.

I have made a 8x8 white card blank and layered it first with a piece of white card pricked around the edged and then another piece of white card which I have embossed using a leaf A4 embossing folder from Sheena.  I also inked around the edges with distress ink - cracked pistachio.

The frame I die cut using Sue Wilson's double pierced round noble dies.  My flowers are stamped with cracked pistachio distress ink and the stamp I have used is a set of peony stamps from Creative Expressions.  The die cut leaves also Sue Wilson's of which I cut four, left two white and inked through the other two.  I then finished it and the flowers off with Tonic Nuvo pearl drops - Caribbean Ocean.

Along with the digi stamp I also received a coloured in version which I have taken into my Serif Craft Artist programme and designed the below with one of my digi kits.

Our design team have used more images from our sponsor and to see what they have designed why not follow the link HERE to the blog where you can also enter your own project.  Our theme is Always Anything Goes.

Coffee & Friends

Good morning all we have a new challenge beginning at Crafting from the Heart.

Our sponsor is

I have used a sentiment from our sponsor called 'Coffee & Friends Greeting'.

I actually started with a background.  I had been having an afternoon of playing. This background made using a stencil from Clarity with Creative Expressions clear texture paste and then the new Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Shakers - dusky mink and delicate blossom.

I made the flowers using a stamp from Honey Doo Crafts called Spring Time Blooms which I stamped onto vellum using white white embossing powder also from Honey Doo.  I then inked the back with colour cloud - Frosted Blossom.  The leaves are the new dies from John Next Door which have been inked using Frosted Mink colour cloud.

Again I have only used white card. One of the layers I inked around the edges with Frosted Blossom colour cloud.  The frame was die cut using one of Sue Wilsons Noble Square Pierced Dies and embossed.

I decided to keep my card clean and simple so I used a vase stamp from Creative Expressions which I stamped using black versafine, clear embossed it and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment was also from a sentiment set by Creative Expressions.

The card is a 5x7 blank with them matting and layering being die cut using Spellbinders 5x7 set A & B layering dies.  I also used black colour cloud to ink around the edges of one of the mats.

Just For You Pop Up

Good morning all.  We are starting a new challenge at Crafting from the Heart this morning.

As this challenge is 'Just for Fun' with no sponsor I decided to make a pop-up card having been reminded recently by the talented Julia Watts how lovely they are.

My card is an A5.  The pop-up was made using a die from Tonic and the side panels were also cut from a strip die from Tonic. The flower strips were die cut using plain white card and then coloured using Tim Holtz distress ink - picked raspberry.

For the front of the card I used a background which I had made using my pixie powders.  I then die cut a frame using Sue Wilsons Noble Double Pierced Rectangle Dies, coloured it again using picked raspberry distress ink and then double embossed it with clear embossing powder to get that glossy look.  The strip flower is also from Sue Wilson which I die cut twice so I could infill the flowers with glossy accents.

Bug JJ Wine

Good morning all.  Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend despite the weather.  I always try to look at the rain as a good time for crafting.

I must say I went away with my Mom the weekend before the bank holiday for our yearly 'mommy/daughter' break to Alvaston Hotel in Nantwich, Cheshire and we had the best weekend and the best weather so we definitely chose the right few days.

Well, onto some crafting and we start a new challenge at Crafty Girls Creations this morning which will run during the month of June.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I have chosen to use an image called 'Bug JJ Wine' which I thought was a brilliant image for girlfriends.

After printing the image out I coloured it in using copic sketch markers as follows: -

I then kept is really simple by diecutting my image using Sue Wilson Noble Rectangle dies.  I also use these dies to cut a frame out.  I finished off my card with some wine coloured pearls.
