Sunny Clematis

Hi fellow crafters, I had just sat down to update my blog and was wondering what card to put on today when it went really black outside and the wind picked up and it is 'chucking' it down. Nothing like summer at all, more like autumn.  Hence todays card which shows my mood, and the weather, black for the weather and sunny yellow clematis for me.
There really was not much to making this one to be honest.  8x8 white base card, black matting and then I embossed two pieces of co'ordinations whitewash card and sanded that down - this really is lovely card.  The image is from Just Inklined Digital Stamps and was coloured in with a combination of spectrums and copics.  The die cut is a grande dhalia spellbinders which white card candi to finish it off.  This digi stamp is really lovely and the benefit of digi stamps is you can print off any size you want to fit your card.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

I'm Comfy

Hi fellow crafters, how are you today?  Friday is always a good day isn't it?  For me it is the start of my weekend as I do not work on Fridays but for others it is the last day of the working week which is also brill.  So, the weather may not be good for this weekend but that means more crafting - yippee.
Today's card is one I made yesterday whilst crafting with my skype chums.  We were doing a project again and the backing papers were chosen by Kathy this time as was the layout.   The layout is fairly simple but the image is a stamp which I have had for ages and I know was from Funky Kits.  If I remember rightly it was their stamp for breast cancer a couple of years ago, unfortunately I think it has been discontinued.  I coloured this in with a mixture of spectrum noirs and copics.  The flourishes were cheery lynn die cuts from Pink Gem Designs.  I am revisiting alot of my stamps and this is in my cutie box.  Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Just 4 Ewe

Hello crafters, two posts in one day, what is she playing at you may ask yourself, well, my chum Sheila told me about a challenge she had entered and suggested I do the same.  So I have entered this card into the Ruby's Rainbow Challenge.  As you will see it is the simpliest of cards using one of the stamps from a range called 'A Little Bit Different' by Sheena Douglas.  The stamp is an A6 size and really doesn't need much but the challenge was black & white with one colour so I stamped and embossed the image in back and inked around the edges with shabby shutters distress ink.  I then matted that onto black.  The card is a C5 white card with black matted onto that and then I took another piece of card and an m-bossibilities folder, inked the folder and embossed a piece of white card and then again inked around the edges with shabby shutters distress ink.  Hope you like it and please wish me luck.  Thanks for looking.

Seeds of Kindness

Good morning crafters.  Hope you are well today.  As you know I craft on skype with two chums, Sheila and Kathy.  Last night Sheila pointed out that all my cards had a coloured stamped image on my blog.  She is quite right ofcourse but I will not apologise as I do love stamping and colouring.  Mind you she is a good mate so she can say anything to me - hee hee.  Anyway, taking her comments into consideration today's card is slightly different.  I again started with a 6x6 white card, matted some pink card and then embossed some white card.  I then stamped a verse called 'Scatter Seeds of Kindness' which I bought whilst at the NEC last year I think and it was from Inkylicious.  I stamped this using a brilliance ink pad.  Matted that onto some more pink card.  The flower embellishment is all hand made.  The pink flower is a Dawn Bibby stamp coloured in with spectrum noir pens and then layered up.  The leaves are a mixture of Dawn Bibby stamps and the Glitter Girls stamps.  Again they were coloured in with spectrum noir pens.  I cut a circle out of some scrap card and then arranged them using collall glue and left it to dry.  To be honest I was just playing around at first but was pleased with my end result.  I do enjoy making my own embellishments as opposed to buying them.  The finishing touch was the gems. Hope you like this and thankyou for taking the time to look.

Raven

Hello fellow crafters.  I have had a very pleasant afternoon doing a crafting project with my skype chums Kathy and Sheila.  The three of us always craft together on skype  and quite often one of us will choose a project.  This time it was Sheila's turn and she chose two lots of backing paper and a layout.  It always amazes all of us that we can use the same ingredients but turn out a completely different card.  In today's card I started with a C5, matted some green and then one of the backing papers chosen by Sheila.  I then stamped my image and embossed it.  The image is called 'Raven' and is from the home grown sugar nellie range from Funky Kits.  I have used a combination of spectrum noirs and copics to colour her in.  I then die cut her using labels 25 and inked around the edges with bundled sage distress ink.  I then cut a faux nestie out of red card as a backing.  I cut another faux nestie from the green card and embossed that with an embossing folder from Sheena Douglas range of folders - this one is the leaf design.  The flower is the daisy spellbinder die and the leaves are marianne dies where I cut one on white card and one of the red card and layered slightly offset.  I do hope you like it and thanks for looking.  Have a good day.

First Kiss

Hello crafters, how are you all today - well I hope? Today's card is a bit of a mystery to me because of the image.  It is a stamped image but it is one I have had for ages and ages. It took me a while to remember where the stamp came from but I finally did - it is a home grown sugar nellie stamp called Young Love and is from Funky Kits.  The die is a nellie snellen die and the backing papers were freebies from the Making Cards magazine.  So, despite me not being able to confirm whose stamp it is I do hope you like it.  I coloured it in with a mixture of copics and spectrum noir pens and I always use the crafters companion neenah card when colouring with alcohol pens.  The image is stamped and embossed as I personally like the effect.  Thanks for stopping by.

It's Coffee Time

Hello crafters, hope you are all well today.  As I am on holiday last week and this week it is a wonderful day for me as you can imagine.  We did go away last week to a lovely adult only site in St Leonards, Dorset.  Very relaxing and our briard Enya had a great time with all those new smells.  The weather was a little mixed and I have to admit I did have crafting withdrawal symptoms but a change of scenery, peace and quiet in the country is always relaxing.
Today's card is one I made last year for my mom's birthday.  She loves going out for coffee so I thought this stamp from Wild Rose Studio's was ideal.  I started with an 8x8 white card matted some rose pink pearlescent card followed by some backing papers I had in my crafty stash.  I stamped out the image on watercoloured paper and coloured her in using my whisper pens.  I then diecut her out using a marianne die and stencilled around the edges with distress inks. I then used the same rose pearlscent card and cut out a faux die as a backing to the image.  The flowers and leaves are all marianne dies.  I do love my die cutting I have to admit.  I do hope you like this as much as my mom did.  Thanks for viewing my blog.  Have a good day.

Jenny

Hi crafters, another simple card for today.  This was an 8x8 card which I made last year for a friends birthday.  Simple matting and layering again.  The image is a stamp called Jenny from Patchwork Polly range which is a set of stamps designed by Jayne Nesterenko and can be bought from crafters companion.  This one is watercoloured and then diecut using labels 13 from spellbinders.  You can tell it was for a friend as I have put gems on this one - I will admit to being a bit of a scrooge where gems are concerned.  I do hope you like this one and thanks for looking.

My Boy

Hi crafters, today's card is another one I included in the Support Our Soldiers cards.  This one is again a C6 card.  Simple matting and layering as you can see.  The image is a stamp from the Strawberry Kisses range from crafters companion and this one was watercoloured.  The My Boy sentiment was also part of the particular stamp set.  Considering I am not keen on male cards I seem to have made quite a few lately anyway, I do hope you like this and thanks for stopping by.

Outdoor Adventures

Hi, hope you are enjoying your Sunday.  This little girl is a stamp I bought sometime ago from a scottish company called Funky Kits.  She is called 'Outdoor Adventures and I hope you will agree she is lovely.
I started with a C5 white card and cut another piece of white card slightly smaller and with a plain blue biro put lines all around.  I then matted a piece blue patterned backing paper onto that. The backing paper is another freebie from the making cards magazine.  I coloured Outdoor Girl in with a combination of spectrum noirs and copics, diecut her out with labels 8 spellbinders and inked around the edge with antique linen distress inks.  The doily is plain white paper die cut with a die from spellbinders moroccan motifs.  The flourish is a cherry lynn one called tropical flourish.  I do hope you like it and thanks for viewing my blog.

Picnic Basket

Hi to my fellow crafters.  Hope you are all well.
Today's card is a 6x6 card which is another I actually made last year.  The backing paper for this card is from Joanna Sheen CD but I am so sorry I cannot remember which CD.  The image is a stamp from the Faye Whittaker - All Our Yesterdays range from Joanna Sheen website.  Any cross stitchers out there will be really familiar with Faye Whittaker as she has been  doing cross stitch designs for years with great success.  This image was watercoloured and die cut with an oval die and matted onto a scalloped oval die cut both are spellbinders.  The flowers are dies from marianne creatables and the photo corners are sizzix.  I have to admit to loving this range of stamps.  Hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it and thanks for looking at my blog.

Top Bloke

Hi crafters, hope you are all well.  I know tomorrow is fathers day, sadly I lost my dad 3 years ago so it is a hard day for me but I know lots of you will have made your dad a lovely card for tomorrow - so to you and your dads, 'have a great fathers day'. In honour of that tonight's card is from the Swalk range from crafters companion - Grandad. It's a lovely stamp with a nice touch of humour.
I started with a 6x6 white card, matted some brown pearlescent card on to that and then matted some gingham brown backing paper I had.  I distressed the edges a little.  The strips of brown pearlescent as embossed with a darice embossing folder.  Grandad is coloured in with spectrum noir pens, distressed with walnut distress ink and die cut with a plain oval spellbinder die. The sentiment was stamped and embossed. die cut and distressed. It can be found in a golfing stamp set from papermania.  I do hope you like it and thanks for viewing my blog.

The towel is wet too!

Good evening folks, apologies for not posting but I have been working - honestly work really gets in the way of crafting doesn't it?
Today's card is one I made as an order for a customer.  I started with a white C5 card, matted some more white card on which I pricked around the outside, a technique I picked up from Sue Wilson.  I then matted some yellow backing paper which was a freebie from the making cards magazine.  My image is a digi stamp from http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/ which I coloured in with a combination of spectrum noirs and fleximarkers.  I die cut the image with a spellbinders die labels 20 and inked around the edges with distress inks - antique linen.  I then cut out another labels 20 in blue card and matted that onto my image.  The flowers are a combination of spellbinders and marianne dies.  My customer loved it, thankfully but then the image was a personal request.  I did put an image on the looseleaf of the insert and also put my customer's friends name on the inside so it was well personalised, but the recipient has had my cards before and likes to frame them hence no sentiment or name on the front.  It was a card I really enjoyed making and I hope you enjoy it too.  Thanks for visiting.

Paintbox Poppet Schoolboy

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.  I thought we would go with a male card today and this one I made sometime ago when I was crafting with my chums on skype.  The image is from the paintbox poppets stamp range and this is watercoloured onto watercolour card.  The background is an embossing folder - one of Darice's and is lightly brushed over it with a blue distress ink.  A simple layout but I hope quite effective and I hope you like it.  Thanks for stopping by.

Friday's Child

Hi to you all. Today's card is a C5 and is a digital stamp - isn't she a cutie?
I started with some very pale blue card and then matted some pink polka dot paper onto that.  The pink polka dot paper is from a crafters companion CD either Swalk or Adorables, sos I cannot remember which.  Sad really I only printed it out last week - honestly - nothing to be said for getting old!!!!.  The memory is obviously the first to go - hee hee.
Anyway, back to my card.  I then cut a piece of co ordinations card in a pale blue and embossed that using a darice border folder, these are 12" in length and are lovely.  Also ideal for scrapbookers too.  I bought those from crafters companion.  I then put some white ribbon across the embossed blue card that was after sanding it down to enhance the embossing which is what co ordinations is all about.  Little friday's child is coloured with a mixture of spectrum noirs and fleximarkers. As I said before this is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I die cut that using an Xcut die and then cut a faux mat out of the pale blue card and matted my topper.  The swirls is a fanciful flourish which I bought from Pink Gem Designs.  I cut two as you can see a blue one and a plain white one. I do love this card and hope you do too.  I try to update my blog daily so it would be lovely if you joined as a follower, if not thanks for stopping by.

Pink Roses

Hi folks, how are you all, having a good saturday I hope.  Today's card is a C5.  I have started with some deep pink card, followed by patterned backing paper from Swalk 2 CD from Crafters Companion.  I then embossed some white paper with an mbossibilities folder but before I put the paper on I inked the folder with spun sugar distress ink and then ran it through my machine.  I matted that onto some more of the deep pink card.  The image is a Kanban stamp from a set I bought ages ago, qvc tsv I think, but it is a beautiful stamp and has such detail that it is really easy to colour in.  I used a mixture of spectrum noirs and fleximarkers.  I then matted that onto some more deep pink card.  I finished it off by adding some pearls in the top right and bottom left corner. I do hope you like it and thanks for stopping by and viewing my blog.

Big Pants

Good evening all.  Hope you are having a good evening.  Today's card is a 6x6.  I have used some grey pearlised card and matted some pink polka dot paper printed from the swalk 2 cd from crafters companion.  I have then coloured the digi stamp, Big Pants from
Mo's Digital Pencil, with a mixture of spectrum noir and fleximarkers.  I then diecut the image using the oval spellbinders die and inked around the edges with antique linen distress inks.  I have matter that onto some more grey pearlised card die cut with oval scalloped spellbinders die.  The pink flower has been stamped using some of Dawn Bibby's flower stamps and coloured in with fleximarkers and spectrum noirs.  The leaves are also spellbinders dies and sprayed with silver spray from crafters.  I intend to enter this into Sir Stampalot Bingo Theme Challenge.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Me to You

Hi guys, yes I know two in one day but I thought I would get ahead and post tomorrow's as I will not be online tomorrow - going out to dinner with a chum.  This card is a 6x6 white card. I matted some green and then embossed some white card.  The image is a stamp from the latest humphrey corner stamps from crafters companion called 'Me to You', isn't she a sweetie?  She was coloured with spectrum noirs and then diecut with the dhalia spellbinders die and inked around the edges using the die as a template with antique linen distress inks.  I then made a faux mat out of the same green card as the base.  The border is two spellbinder dies - morrocan accents.  The large flower is another spellbinder die - Aster Flower and again inked with mustard seed distress inks before removing from the die.  The leaves are from marianne range.  I have entered this in the Crafters Companion Blog Challenge 25.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopped by.

Carnations for January

Good evening crafters.  Gosh it has been mixed here in the West Midlands today.  Sunshine and showers is right but boy were they heavy.  I work from home and my office is in my conservatory and there were times when the rain was so loud I had to take the phone in to the lounge because I could hear my colleague on the other end.  The thunderstorms have upset my poor Enya, you wouldn't think she was a fearless briard when you see her clamouring to get onto the settee and my lap.  Phew where is our summer?
Well, today's card is one I made at the beginning of the year and was done for the Support Our Soldiers appeal where you send in C6 cards and they are sent to bases abroad for the soldiers to use to send to their loved ones.  This is a C6 white card with some pink card as a base.  I then embossed some white card and matted that onto the pink.  The stamp is from Dimensions and is part of their 'Flower Floral' set.  Within the set are 12 stamps for each month.  Each flower stamp has the flower name and the month.  They are not huge stamps but they are so useful.  The stamp image was coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens and then it was die cut using an Xcut die.  The pink embellishments  are dies from the Marianne range.  I do hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

On The Beach

Good afternoon folks, hope you are all well.  Today's card is a beach scene using the latest Swalk stamps and I have entered this card into the Pink Gem Challenge - Photo Inspiration.
I started with an C5 white base card, layered some bright yellow/gold card and then layered some white card.  I then took some more white card and ran it throught my grand caliber using an mbossibilites folder but first is inked the folder with stormy blue distress ink.  I do like this effect.  I then coloured my swalk stamp in with spectrum noirs pens and layered that onto the same yellow/gold card.  The flowers are spellbinders Anemone which have been inked in mustard seed distress inks and the leaves are marianne dies.  I do hope you like it and will remind you of summer.  Thanks for stopping by.

Yippee

Happy Monday Bank Holiday folks.  Hope you are having a good day and getting some crafting in.  Today's card is another boys and is an 8x8.   I have layered some flowered paper onto some navy card.  The flowered paper was a freebie in one of the craft magazines.  The nestie is a grand nestie and I embossed the white layer with one of my m-bossibilities folders.  The image is a digi stamp - not something I have used very often - digi stamps - as I normally like to emboss my stamping however, I think I may be a convert and they are so economical especially if you have a small crafting budget.  Unfortunately, and I am sorry about this, but I cannot remember where I got this digi stamp from but I do hope you like this one as I am quite proud of my colouring in.  I used my spectrum noirs and fleximarkers, mind you the digi stamp was really good too especially for shading points.  Bye for now and thanks for stopping by.

Pressie Time

Good evening all.  Phew has it been awful here in the West Midlands.  Wall to wall rain.  I feel so sorry for those who had street parties planned - hopefully they found somewhere indoors and still had a good time.  Well today's card is a Lili of the Valley stamp which I bought from the NEC about 18 months ago. I am sooooooo not good with boys/mens cards!  Anyway little Tommy here (my name for him) was coloured in with spectrum noirs and fleximarkers and then cut out.  The backing paper is one my crafting chum Sheila chose and the white square Tommy is standing on is the Boofle embossing folder.  I matted the backing paper onto some red card and used a hint of red in Tommy's shoes and the parcel.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Scatter Seeds of Kindness

Good evening all.  It's been a lovely day for me today - crafting all day - absolute heaven.  Today's card was made a couple of months ago.  The backing paper was a freebie from the crafters companion site.  If you are a member you can access monthly free downloads which contain backing papers, toppers and embellishments all to a theme for that month.  Don't you just love freebies!  The verse was one I bought at the March NEC and was from Inkylicious - I think they still have it on their website.  A useful verse stamped and embossed and the diecut with spellbinders die 17 I think and then inked around the edges with distress ink - antique linen.  The leaves are spellbinders and again inked with distress inks and the flower die is from the Xcut range.  Hope you like it. Bye for now.

Skipping Flossie

Hi all, hope you are getting ready for the diamond jubilee and those that are celebrating I hope you have a wonderful time.  I don't know about you but sometimes I really do lose my crafting mojo.  Luckily I craft with two chums, via skype called Sheila and Kathy so when one of us loses our mojo the other two can always help.  So this weekend we have decided to each chose a backing paper and we have to make a card using that backing paper.  This backing paper was chosen by Kathy and it is from crafters companion swalk cd2, design 2, colour 5.  I have matted the backing paper onto some lilac card.  The stamp is from Little Claires and is actually called Flossie Skipping. This is the first time I had used it, it stamps out lovely and she is a cutie.  I coloured it in using a mixture of spectrum noirs and fleximarkers, die cut it with a spellbinder die, labels 17, and layered it onto some lilac card, inked around the edges with distress ink-shaded lilac.  The flowers are some I completely forgot I had until Sheila reminded me - perfect petals which I think we bought from crafters companion some time ago.  Yellow gems in the middle and the leaves are spellbinders inked with distress inks - crushed olive.  Hope you like it. Bye for now.
