Steam Punk - Telsa

Good morning everyone.  How are you all? January is almost over - I do think January is always a long month.  I have enjoyed the recent cold spell I have to admit although I could have done with it being longer.  Hate the rain.

Today we start a new challenge at Crafty Girls Creations.

Challenge 13 theme is the usual 'Always Anything Goes'

Our sponsor is NikkiBurnette

I am using an image from our sponsor called Steam Punk - Telsa.

I don't normally do steam punk but this little lady took my eye. She definitely has attitude.

After printing her out I coloured her in using my copic sketch markers as follows: -
hair = C3 | C5 | C7
skin = E000 | E00 | E01
dress etc = B23 | B26 | B29
accessories = R17 | R27 | 100

I then fussy cut her out using my BSC with a 1mm border on the 'direct to cut' facility. I then cut a 2mm black mat and a 4mm red mat. (oh the joys of my BSC).

I have used a white C5 base card followed by a white mat which I have embossed using a key embossing folder - a couture one I think.  I have distressed around the edges a little and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz blueprint sketch distress ink.

I then cut a piece of red card and distressed around the edges followed by a piece of white card which I have inked up using a cog mask and blueprint sketch distress ink topped with my topper.

A piece of blue ribbon and some red tonic nuvo pearl drops finishes off my design.

The Knitting Basket

Good morning folks.  I should be almost at our Manchester office by now ready for a nice cup of coffee before a team meeting.  Hope fully finished by lunchtime so I can get past jct 10a before the major traffic build up.  Honestly the M6 just seems to be one lot of road works after another after another.  I appreciate they have to do repairs but why can't they do it all together .  Well rant over.

We have a lovely new challenge starting today at Crafting from the Heart.

Our theme is 'Always Anything Goes'

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I have chosen a digi image called 'The Knitting Basket' to work with.
After printing my image out I coloured it in using copic sketch markers

I don't know about you but sometimes when I have coloured an image in I leave it to one side for a while and keep looking at it and occasionally a layout will just come to me.  Well this time it just called out to be simple so that's what I did, simple matting and layering with a little embossing.  I have glazed the glasses too.

If you want to see more samples from our design team of enter your own super project into the challenge do follow the link HERE.

We also have a facebook page which you can join, share your projects and enter a challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope to see you soon.

A Bottle of Wine

Good morning folks, hope you are all well?

We start a new challenge at Simply Create Too today.

Our theme for this month is 'Something New'.

I have used some new stamps I purchased from Honey Doo Crafts called 'A Bottle of Wine'.

When I saw these I fell in love with them and thought they would be useful for so many events plus for men and women.

I have stamped my image in black Versafine ink and clear embossed it.
I then die cut it using Creative Expressions Noble Collection Double Pierced Rectangles - a mixture of both sets to create the matting and laying.  The black frame has also been created using the same dies.
My sentiment is a stamp from a Creative Expressions stamp set again using Versafine ink with clear embossing and die cut using Creative Expressions Pierced Flag dies
The little flower is made using a flower die from spellbinders but I can't remember which die set it came from - sorry.

To see more samples from our design team follow the link to the challenge HERE.  Don't forget to enter your own project at the same time it can be any project from anywhere.

Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you again soon.

High Tea

Good morning folks.  Fridays are wonderful, mind you that probably because I don't work Friday's.

I am off today to the hairdressers with my Mom and then we are going for lunch, so it will be a very relaxing day for me today.

Hope you are having a good day?

We start a new challenge at Crafty Girlz Challenge today.

Challenge 11 has our usual 'Anything Goes' theme.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

For my card today I have used a digi stamp from our sponsor called 'High Tea'

After printing out my image I fussy it using my BSC with a 1mm border and then cut a mat with a 2mm border.

I have coloured my image using a mixture of copic sketch markers and sakura gel pens, finishing off with some white glitter for the icing.

I then chose a couple of backing papers from a digi kit in Serif Craft Artist and the complementary backing is some co-ordinations card.

As I always struggle for layouts I went back to my tattered lace magazine library and found my layout adapted to my needs.

I had a couple of wooden cherry embellishments from my crafty stash which I coloured using my copics and the triple embossed.  I have finished off with some nuvo pearl drops in the pink.

Ballet Slippers

Good morning everyone, our first challenge of the new year starts at Crafty Girls Creations today.

Challenge 12 has the usual theme of 'Anything Goes'

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I have chosen to use a digi stamp called 'Ballet Slippers'.  Such a useful digi stamp that can be used for so many different occasions.

My project could be used for a card or a scrapbook page as I created it in Serif Craft Artist.

I started by importing the image which I then took into the cutout studio and removed the white parts from the image.  I then chose my two materials which I placed at the back of the work.  I then saved moved it into the embellishments section of the programme.

I changed my page layout to an 8x8 blank template and created my page using items from different digi kits.  I enjoy working with craft artist in this way, just picking which items I want mainly based on the colour scheme I have chosen.

The matting and layering on the digi stamp was created using the shapes and colour picker.

I always save my project in serif and also as a JPG that way I can use my project at any time as a card in the future obviously without the watermark which I have to put on to place on my blog.

If you want to see more samples from our design team do follow the link HERE and don't forget to enter your own project for a chance to win a super prize from our sponsor.

Thank you so much for visiting and for any comments you choose to leave,

Take care.

Pretty Girls With Roses in Hair

Good morning fellow crafters.

We have a new challenge beginning at Crafting from the Heart.

Our theme is 'Always Anything Goes'.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

I have used a digi stamp from our sponsor called 'pretty girls with roses in hair'

After printing our my image, fussy cutting using my BSC with a 1mm border following on with a black mat with a 2mm border I coloured it in using the following copic sketch marker pens: -

Hair = E25 | E27 | E35
Roses = R81 | R83 | R85
Leaves = YG61 | YG63
Skin = E000 | E00 | E01

I have chosen to do a square card this time using Creative Expressions Square Double Pierced dies to create a frame.  I then die cut 4 corners using a tattered lace corner die which I think was a freebie from one of the magazines.

My pink roses in the background was cut using my BSC with a free SVG cutting file from Birds Cards.

I have slightly shaped my digi image and secured it with collall 3d glue to give it some height.

Couture 4 Fashion

Good morning all.  It's Monday morning and the start of a new challenge at Get Creative.

Our theme for this challenge is 'Something New'.

Our sponsor is

I have chosen to use a digital stamp called 'Couture 4 Fashion' for our sponsor.

For Christmas I had some money, always a lovely pressie for a crafter, and I had had my eye on the noble dies - double pierced rectangles. I had already treated myself to the first set so I also bought set B from iconuk.co.uk which gives me the complete range of laying dies which are also pierced. This is my 'something new'.

I have cut my own card blank from some white A3 card - size was 7.5" x 8.5".
I then used the largest double pierced die from both sets and cut out a black mat and a patterned mat.  The patterned paper is from a tattered lace magazine.

I then printed my image out and fussy cut using my BSC with a 1mm border.  I also cut a black mat adding a 2mm border.  I have coloured her in using the following copic markers: -

hair - E71 | E77 | E79
trousers - W3 | W5 | W7
blouse - Y11 | Y15 | Y17
shoes/bag - R17 | R35 | R37
skin - E000 | E00 | E01

My flowers were die cut using a die from tattered lace and inked with distress ink - fossilized amber and similarly the leaves which are a die from creative expressions also available from iconuk.co.uk.

The sentiment is a stamp from my stash stamped in black versafine and embossed in clear embossing powder and die cut using creative expressions pierced flags die.

Finally I finished off my card using tonic nuvo black pearl drops and a white pearl in the middle of my flower which I have coloured using a black copic marker pen.

Charleston Flapper

Good morning all and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

2016 is a special year for me and my hubby.  He is 65 years old this year, March to be exact and we have been married 25 years in October so lots to celebrate.

I hope you had some good celebrations last night for the New Year.  Any new year resolutions made?

I gave up making those as I was always breaking them by the 2nd January -tee hee.

To start 2016 off with a bang challenge 11 has begun at Creative Ladybirds Creations.

Theme is ' Anything Goes'

Our sponsor is

The image I have used from our sponsor SLS Lines is called 'Charleston Flapper'.

I printed our Ms Charleston and fussy cut her using my BSC with a 1mm border.  I then increased the border to 2mm and cut out a black mat.  This was all done in the 'direct to cut'.

I coloured her in using a mixture of Copic Sketch marker pens and for her dress and shoes Sakura sparkle pens.

The flowers I made using a stamp from Chloes Creative Cards and cosmic shimmer embossing powder Blue Speckle.  The leaves are a Sue Wilson die.

For the matting and layering I have cut a blue piece of card as normal followed by white card using Noble Dies - Double Pierced Rectangles Set B followed by a lattice cut using my BSC.  My blue frame is a spellbinders die.
