Sofi Beautiful Ballerina

Good morning.  Hope you week has started off well and you had a good weekend.

We start a new challenge at Crafting from the Heart this morning.

Challenge 195 is the usual 'Anything Goes'

Our sponsor is

I have used Sofi Beautiful Ballerinas-C32 digi stamp from our sponsor which I have coloured in using a mixture of graphmaster and copic marker pens.

Graphmaster = 26 | 27 | 29
Copics = R00 | R20 | R22 | RV29 | E30 | E33 | £35

The dies I have used are
Tonic Blocked Parquet & Garden Trellis Essentials
Sue Wilson Shadow Box Collection Stitched Lattice Frame Die
Sue Wilson Laurel Leaves Die

Stamps used: -
Phill Martin - Blossom Corners
Dreamees Flower Dies

I had made some backgrounds some months ago and this one was made by taking a sheet of acetate and spreading dies clear glue all over.  I then sprayed it with a fine mist of water and puffed pixie powders all over it.  Another spray of water to keep it moist and then screw up some tissue paper, unscrew it and place it over the glue/pixie powders.  Dab it down, don't run or you will damage the tissue paper, just dab it into place and then leave to dry.  You don't remove the tissue paper at all.  Once dry I then die cut a piece out and placed it behind my die cut blocked parquet.  This is not my technique I have seen John Lockwood and Julie Watts do it on Hochanda and thought it looked so good and was different.  Plus I love making my own backgrounds.

I had cut a frame out using the lattice frame die, stamped the sentiment on the two corners and fixed that to my background and parquet die.

I then assembled the rest of my card.  The flowers I have stamped using cosmic shimmer detail white embossing powder onto vellum.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog to see what ideas the rest of the design team have made using other stamps from our sponsor.  Plus don't forget to enter your own project into the challenge.

That's all for today folks.  Thank you so much for visiting.

Take care.

Happy Birthday Wendy

Good morning.

Another friends birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY.

My background on this card is using the acetate method and pixie powders.  You may have seen Julia Watts do this technique on Hochanda.

Take a piece of acetate and cover it in dries clear glue, make sure you spread it over in a thin coat - yes it will be messy but work it.

Spray it with some water to keep it moist then cover tap pixie powders of your choice over the glue.  You can also add glitter, gilding flakes etc at this point.  Give it a final misting with water and then screw up a piece of white tissue paper, in screw and place on top of the glue and gently press down with some kitchen roll.  DON'T rub.  Leave to dry.

The die I have used is a Creative Expressions background one.

I then stamped some flowers using  Small Jewelled Flower stamps from Chloe's Creative Cards and some blue cosmic shimmer embossing powder.  Finished off with pearl Tonic Nuvo Drops.

The sentiment is a stamp from Phill Martin's Lavish Leaves collection and embossed using the same embossing powder as the leaves.

I have also made a box for this card in plain dark blue card and made another flower finishing off with a gift tag.
Thank you for visiting today.

Take care.

Chloe by Lizzy Love

Good morning all.
Hope you all had a good weekend?  I enjoyed my crafting time on Saturday.  Good 'bunker down and craft' day here in Birmingham as it rained all day.

We have a new challenge beginning today at Crafting from the Heart

Challenge 193 is our usual 'Always Anything Goes'.

Our sponsor is

After printing out I coloured her in using a mixture of graphmaster and copics as follows: -

graphmaster = 26/27/29 for the skin and WG2/3/5/7/8 for the hair
copics = B92/97/99; R00/20/22; RV29

I then fussy cut her using my BSC on the direct to cut facility.

The backing paper can be found is a digi kit on serif craft artist called FM Be Mine
  Using my spellbinders 5x7 matting dies I die cut two pieces of white card and leaving the die in place I inked around the edges with distress ink fired brick.   The one piece of white card I embossed using a heart embossing folder from Crafts Too.  The 2nd piece I fixed my digi stamp too with pinflair glue to give it a bit of height and shape.

In my stash I had some lovely crinkle ribbon which is a creative expressions.

Visitors to my blog will know that I love flowers so I couldn't resist adding them to this card.  But I wanted different ones so I used a mixture of stamps from both Chloes Creative Cards and Dreamees.  I stamped them onto stamping card this time as opposed to my usual vellum and I used distress inks mustard seeds,  fired brick and broken china.   The leaves were from a die cut of creative expressions which I inked with mustard seeds ink.  All finished off with a small pearl in the centre of the flowers.

I have used the following marker pens:=
CG2 | CG4 | CG6 | 25 | 27 | 29 which are graphmaster
G82 | G94 | G99 | RV29 which are copics

Laura & Sam are Engaged

Good morning all.  Thank heaven February has arrived. I always find January is a very long month.

January this year was brightened up with the engagement of Laura who is the daughter of one of my closest friends and my crafty chum Wendy.

I have known Laura for some 15 years and have watched her grow into the lovely, accomplished young lady she is today.

Congratulations to you both.

Today we starts a new challenge over at Simply Create Too.

Challenge 135 has a theme of

Favourite Colour Combo

I chase white and purple because it is Laura favourite colour.

I have used the new large heart dies from Tonic to create a frame around a photograph of Laura and Sam.  The card I have used is centura white pearl.

The flowers are stamps from Chloes Creative Cards which I have stamped onto vellum using bright white detailed embossing powder.  I then stamped some leaves again from Chloes Creative Cards onto heat resistant acetate and purple WOW powder.  A purple gem in the centre of the flowers was the finishing touch.

The sentiment was stamped using versafine black ink and clear embossing powder.  Then die cut using Sue Wilsons double pierced round dies.

Follow the link HERE to our blog to enter your own project and to see what the rest of our design team have made.  Just don't forget to follow the theme.

Thank you for visiting today.

Daisy Emma

Hi all, hope you are well today?

A new challenge starts at Crafty Girls Creations.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

During my long hols over Christmas I had been playing with backgrounds as I love making them.  I also love pixie powders so I used a background I had made using my pixie powders.

I had received a my bargain dies from Hochanda Craft Price drop that day - Floral Motif Essentials strip and die cut a background to go over my pixie powder background.

I used my double pierced rectangle dies to create the frame and fixed that to some yellow card.

I then coloured my digi stamp from our sponsor called 'Daisy Emma' using my graphmaster and copic marker pens as follows: -

graphmaster = 29 | 27 | 25
copics = Y21 | Y23 | Y28 | G85 | B04 | ||B05 | B06 | Y06 | Y08

I fussy cut her out using my BSC on the direct to cut facility.

I die cut some leaves using one of sue wilsons dies - pin wheel flowers and stamped my flowers using  a stamp from creative expressions and cosmic shimmer lapis sapphire lustre embossing powder.  These are the pin wheel flowers.
